Old windows don’t get cheaper by waiting

Four reasons the homeowners who qualify move now instead of next winter.

The problem

The furnace runs all winter and the room by the window is still cold. In summer the AC never catches up.

What changes

Single-pane and failed double-pane windows are one of the largest sources of heat loss in an older home. Replacing them is the fix — the price is what stops most people, not the decision.

The problem

You got a quote for the whole house, it came back five figures, and you put the project off for another year.

What changes

You may not be looking at retail pricing. Qualifying veteran households can see 30–60% off, which is often the difference between a project you defer and one you actually book.

The problem

Fog between the panes. Frames that have started to soften. A sash that hasn’t opened properly in years.

What changes

Failed seals and rotting frames don’t stabilize — they spread to the surrounding trim and framing. Replacing before the damage moves into the wall keeps this a window job instead of a carpentry job.

The problem

There’s no counter you can walk up to and ask for the veteran rate. So most people never find out it exists.

What changes

Reduced pricing is set by participating installers project by project, not published on a national price list. That’s why this starts with a short eligibility check instead of a quote form.

Is this a VA or government program?
No. This is reduced pricing offered by participating window manufacturers and installers to military and veteran households. It is not a VA benefit, not a government grant, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any government agency.
So what do I actually pay?
There is still a real cost — this is a discount, not a giveaway. What you pay depends on how many windows you’re replacing, the type of window, and your home. The eligibility check is what tells you where your project lands.
Will checking affect my credit?
No. The eligibility check is questions only — nobody pulls your credit to tell you whether you qualify.
Why do you need my address?
Windows can’t be priced from a photo or a ZIP code. A formal estimate requires someone measuring your actual openings, so the installer needs to know where the project is.
How many windows do I need to replace?
The deepest discounts go to homeowners replacing most or all of their windows at once, because that’s where installers have the most room to move on price. Single-window replacements usually won’t reach the top of the range.
What if I rent, or my home is a mobile or manufactured home?
This is for homeowners of single-family homes. Renters aren’t eligible, and mobile and manufactured homes generally aren’t covered by participating installers.
